Labor Day may come and go but we’ll still be here…

We’ll keep on truckin’ as usual, right through October. Then we go indoors to the greenhouse at Aubuchon Hardware on Route 1 for the winter. We’re open year-round, every Friday, 9 – 1. We’ve been coming to Belfast with locally raised and produced foodstuffs since 1980, and you can count on us.

Fall isn’t called the “Harvest Season” for nothing. Late summer and early fall the Market offers the widest selection of furits, vegetables, preserved foods, ready to eat or heat and serve meals, meats, dairy including cheeses and yogurt, honey of the season, syrup from the spring harvest, and oh yeah. Baked goods. Did we mention fresh pasta? Mushrooms raised right here in Unity Maine?

We accept SNAP, EBT, credit and debit. Just check in at the info table, register and pick up your clip board. Check out with one swipe of your card. Some members also accept credit/debit at their own booths.

Redeem and Earn Maine Harvest Bucks when you shop

Harvest Bucks. This is a great time to redeem them, and shop for non eligible foods and earn some more. Those using EBT, SNAP earn 1$ in Maine Harvest Bucks for every dollar they spend on their accounts. Harvest Bucks can then be redeemed toward the next purchase of fruits and vegetables. What a great way to double your food budget and invest in not only a healthy diet, but the local economy…

MFFM Survey Time

Picnic at Belfast Farmers' MarketMaine Federation of Farmers’ Markets (MFFM) will be conducting its annual customer and vendor survey Friday, July 27th at Market. Look for MFFM intern Helen Watson . She’ll be set up near the picnic tables. We encourage you to take a few minutes and introduce yourself to Helen and complete the survey.

The  annual survey helps the Federation, of which we are a member, and the Belfast Farmers’ Market to better understand its customer base and aids both organizations in serving you better.

Maine Harvest BucksReminder that those shopping at Market with EBT or SNAP — Your purchases earn you Harvest Bucks which can be used the next time you shop for fruits and vegetables at Market. It’s a great deal.  Here’s how it works, from the website:

“Maine Harvest Bucks can be redeemed for locally grown fruits and vegetables. For every dollar you spend with your SNAP/EBT card at a market, you’ll receive an extra dollar in Maine Harvest Bucks to be spent on fruits and vegetables.”

The Harvest Bucks program is facilitated by the Maine Federation of Farmers’ Markets and supported by volunteers and funded by individuals and philanthropic organizations.
