We invite you to Sample the Season, a pre-Thanksgiving Taste of the Market on Friday, November 17th at our winter home in the greenhouse at Aubuchon Hardware, 231 Northport Avenue in Belfast. Many of the Market’s 18 winter participants will be sampling something special with the Thanksgiving feast in mind.
The Market offers a full range of locally produced foodstuffs in addition to fresh and storage vegetables, apples and cider. There is a full range of meats, seafood, dairy including yogurt and cheese, eggs, baked goods, preserves, honey and maple syrup, mushrooms, ready to heat and serve gourmet meals, nutritious energy bars, fresh crepes made to order and select farm crafts. Belfast Farmers’ Market is open year-round, every Friday 9 am to 1 pm, except the day after Thanksgiving.
A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO USE UP THOSE MAINE HARVEST BUCKS
Thanksgiving dinner is a great time to dig those Maine Harvest Bucks out of your wallet and feed your friends and family a feast of healthy locally grow fruits and vegetables. Here’s the scoop on Harvest Buck:
“Maine Harvest Bucks can be redeemed for locally produced fruits and vegetables, either fresh or processed with no salt, sugar or fat added. (Apple cider counts!) SNAP/EBT shoppers receive bonus local fruits and vegetables for every SNAP dollar spent.
Maine Harvest Bucks are known as “nutrition incentives,” which increase the value of federal nutrition assistance dollars (SNAP/EBT) spent at participating farmers’ markets, Community Supported Agriculture farms, and retail outlets that sell local produce.”
